Opinions are like arseholes…

…everyone’s got one!

One of the things I am eternally grateful for is that I live in a free country, where I can express my thoughts and feelings in any way I so choose without fear of persecution, repercussion or death.

Well, almost. But I will get onto free speech later/another time.

Before I start writing things in this blog I felt it prudent to point out that what I write here are MY thoughts, MY feelings, and MY opinions. People can choose to read these as they please, can agree or disagree with what I say as they see fit. I’m not going to judge anyone for disagreeing with me.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I may not agree with someone’s opinion, but I will defend their right to say it. Otherwise we end up going down the lines of oppressive regimes where even your thoughts are policed (although, scarily, it seems we are perilously close to this at the moment anyway!!). Opinions are different to facts. Facts are irrefutable and cannot be changed. Here is an example to demonstrate:
Fact – I am a girl
Opinion – I am the best girl in the whole wide world
See the difference?!
Anyone can have an opinion, and that’s fine. Have your opinion. Do whatever you like with it, it’s yours to express as you wish. But if you start spouting opinions as facts then I will get annoyed.
Therefore, if anyone disagrees with anything that may end up in this blog, GREAT! Let’s have a debate and celebrate our differences. But do not try and force your opinions onto me, or anyone for that matter. Just because someone doesn’t agree with your opinion doesn’t mean they are wrong.

But, if you get your facts wrong, I will happily correct you…
